The Savoy was built only 2 years after the almost identical Trump building at 167 East 61st. In fact, it was the same architect, Philip Burnbaum and Associates who designed both buildings back in 1984 and 1986. There was in fact a huge debate on the fact that they were so similar, and Donald Trump filed a lawsuit to keep the developers of The Savoy, Morton Olshan and Partners, from having his building look exactly the same as Trumps own building. Never the less, they look remarkably similar to this day, with only a couple of differences to note.
The Savoy is 42 stories tall, with many terraces and houses 234 condominium units. The Building has a 24 hour doorman, concierge, health club, basement storage, central Air-conditioning, Roof deck, washer and dryers in the building, elevators , garage and spectacular views. It is also located near all of the great shopping including Bloomingdales and fabulous restaurants as well.
